Content Motor: Private Alpha
February 26th, 2007After a grueling 48 hour coding session (300+ hours total), the private alpha release of ContentMotor is up and running. Although most of the main core features are in place I consider it about 15% done. There are also going to be three different versions of the Motor when all is said and done. In a nutshell (without giving away the farm) ContentMotor is a unique Web Based Content Management System for small to medium sized businesses that require extreme ease of use, scalability, and asset management beyond traditional blog software or open source content management systems.
There are now 2 clients running ContentMotor and the feedback has been nothing short of amazing. One client, an architect, wants to use ContentMotor to run not only his public web site but also his intranet so he can globally manage assets and projects for his team. His response to using the CMS after only one day was this:
“I know just enough HTML to be dangerous and I have used some of the open source solutions on the market; then I went with a roll-my-own approach but I have to say I have never used anything as flexible or easy to use as this”.
Another client, who was actually the first user of the pre-alpha release currently manages over 100 individual pages and over 450 photo assets was able to quickly manage all her information, importing it in less then 20 minutues, and is now experimenting with the system to create new and dynamic sections for her web site on the fly - including specials, grouped content pages and more.
If you are interested in testing ContentMotor please let me know. When released, it will be a managed and hosted CMS in three flavors: a single user solution for the average person / small business owner, a group solution with team collaboration for a small office or publishing teams and a fully scalable enterprise solution allowing groups and multiple CMS instances and intranet collaboration with project management.
Stay tuned, the motors is just begun to rev its engine.
